Essential Oil Diffuser

Diffusers are used in our homes, offices and professional practices and have proven to be the most widely adopted method for diffusing the healing properties of aromatic essential oils. There are several types of diffusion methods. Here I shall let you know about simple diffusion methods that can be easily adhered to even at home using household items.

Tissue Diffusion Method

It is the easiest method used for diffusing aromatic essential oils. Pour 3 or 4 drops in a tissue and place in anywhere so that air movements will cause the aromatic smell spread all over the room.  This is considered to be more portable but it does not emit much aroma as compared to the other methodologies.

Steam Diffusion Method

In this method add 5 – 10 drops of essential oil in hot boiled water. 10 drops will be more effective. Be careful because some oil such as eucalyptus, cinnamon, rosemary, cajuput, pine, thyme, cajuput, etc. may cause irritation to your mucous membrane. This method of diffusing is more useful for energizing or relaxing oils. Stream Inhalation can be used for respiratory problems. The main advantage of steam diffusion is that it’ll make the aroma spread more quickly by evaporation. The Negative side is that the heated oil might change from its original properties and may not last long.

Candle Diffusion Method

It’s another method of circulating the scent of essential oils throughout the room. Light a candle and let it burn for 5 minutes. Then blow it off. Now add a drop of essential oil and relight it again. But more care should be taken in this method because the essential oils are highly inflammable. As said before, heating the oil will reduce its original properties.

Lamp rings

It is also another common method for essential oil diffusion. This is inexpensive and the scented oil is placed in a groove around the terracotta ring and then placed on the lamp. The oil if dropped on the lamp can cause the bulb to burst, so proper care should be taken.

Clay Pot Diffusers

Clay pot diffuser resembles small terracotta pots. The oil can be dropped in small openings and closed with a cork. The aroma depends on the amount of oil added. This method is easy to use and is inexpensive. No electricity or batteries are needed.

Fan diffusers

It uses a fan to blow the aroma into the air. It has an absorbent pad in which the oil is placed and then it is powered on so that the fan blows across the pad to make a wonderful aroma throughout the room. The fan might be noisy and this depends on the brand.

Electric Heat Diffusers

This is similar to the fan diffuser because it also uses the fan. The difference is that the electric Heat diffuser contains heat diffuser which heats the oil and blows it using the fan. It’ll more efficient in dispersing the aroma

Nebulizers

A Nebulizer processes essential oils into a near gas-like state and releases atomized microscopic oil particles into the air, thus making the body to absorb it more readily. Simply pour the oil into the glass cylinder and turn it on! It’s very simple and the diffusion can cover up to a distance of 500 square feet and up. The disadvantage is that the glass jar may break easily.

Amidst these common diffusion methods, there are others that are in use. However, these are the most simplest and viable ones that can be implemented at the convenience of your home with ease
